Interesting Special Effects
The movie Inception is full of special effects. But there is one part in particular where Ariadne learns how to build the layouts in the dreams. Here the special effect is showing her move the entire buildings/layout with her mind that ends up above them instead of flat. They slowly have the buildings move and add in noise to actually make it sound like its happening. It makes it very surreal feeling.
Sound/Music of Tsotsi
During the movie, one of its highlights was the music. It was both upbeat and sad. What stood out in this movie more than others was the choice in style of music during certain parts. For instance, there were some scenes where you'd think the music should be a little more aggressive or sad feeling. But other parts that got it spot on was right in the beginning. When Tsotsi and his friends are walking down the street, the music portrays them as "tough" and not to be messed with. But perhaps the culture is different with their music. Maybe they just wanted to share there music anyways and it wasn't as vital to them. Or they wanted to get a reaction of the audience. Overall, we only know that sometimes the music throws off some scenes in the movie.
Transition
In the end of Interstellar, Cooper's daughter, Marv, tells him to go find Brand. The way the movie shows him leaving with the scenes cutting both in and out of him and Brand gives an interesting feeling that leaves you relieved. You see him going to get Brand when they show her setting up camp but she has no idea he is coming for her. She could be alone for the rest of her life without knowing. But the movie lets the audience know when transitioning back and forth between them that she will be found and gives that satisfying feeling to people.
Whale Rider: Individual vs. Community
The movie makes a stance that even though having the community work and come together they still need a leader. Pakia end up moving the lead whale and then the community of whales moves and follows. Same as Pakia's community, they come together to move forward to be strong as one. So it is important to have both.

The Road Home Symbolism: The Barrette
Before the departure of the teacher, he gave her a barrette as a gift. The barrette portrayed warm colors of red, pink and black. It brought emotions of hope, happiness and love. When he did leave she ended up loosing the barrette and trying desperately to find it. In the end she finds it back at home. It's a reminder that he is still gone when she finds it and puts it back in her hair. When she expects him back she waits all day in the storm for him to return. She ends up sick and in bed. He ends up coming to find her at her home. Both the barrette and the teacher end up at her home. Meaning sometimes you don't always have to go find something when it may just end up coming back to you. Everything that is meant to be will fall into place.
